Along the left column are blue vowels and semi-vowels w and y
with vowels. Along the top row are red initial or final consonants and green
initial only consonants.
A slash '/' indicates the sound when a consonant is an initial
and when it is a final as initial/final. A dash '-' indicates a consonant is
silent.
Every syllable final consonant within or at the end of a word
becomes the initial consonant of the following syllable when a vowel occurs
immediately after it.
Along the bottom row are black paired
consonants where, generally, the bold consonant is the final consonant
with the other consonant being silent if the syllable is the final
syllable of the word or the following syllable of the word begins with
its own consonant, otherwise, the paired consonants are split between
the two syllables of the word such that the first consonant becomes the
final consonant of the current syllable and the second consonant becomes
the initial consonant of the following syllable. In any case, the
consonants are pronounced the same as their non-paired counterparts in
final position.
